Refrigerated Transport
This division offers chilled and frozen deliveries to the majority of mainland UK, Ireland and most of Europe, specialising in 1-26 pallet drops and delivering on behalf of it's customers to the following destinations:

• Large retail distribution depots
• Food services distribution depots
• Manufacturers for further processing
• Airport catering outlets

To compliment our current Day one for two service, David Price Foods has introduced from July 2006 a Yorkshire Depot which operates with ChillNet to provide a more localised service.

Vehicles feature:

• Moveable bulkhead doors to maintain the strictest temperature guidelines
• Vehicles fitted with dual evaporators and tail-lifts
• Computerised temperature controlled systems
• Computerised tracking systems

We have a fully integrated operations office, staffed 24 hours a day, that brings together the following departments:

• Order Input
• Transport Planning
• Customer Services
• Booking In
• Warehouse Management

Within the operations office there is also:

• POD Scanning, which is fully integrated with our transport computer system
• Customer Service Software, specifically designed for our customer service team.

Cold Storage - Major Features

• Automatic mobile racking totalling 6000 pallet capacity of Frozen and Chilled enabling easy access to all products at all times with cross dock facilities and own loading dock facilities
• Fully computerised stock control system specially developed for the customers needs
• Modern fleet of fork lift trucks, taking into account drivers comfort and safety
• Fully refrigerated loading dock with automatic dock levellers, enabling loading and unloading at various heights
• Complete modern refrigeration plant with online temperature control
• Full accreditation from Lloyds
• Full accreditation from EEC approval
• 7day, 24 hour operation

Cold Storage - Customer Base

Types of product stored in the coldstore range from:

• Raw materials for production purposes, mainly by manufacturers in the North East
• Semi-produced product for further production destined for all parts of the UK, Europe & Ireland.
• Finished product which is also destined for all areas of the UK, Europe, Ireland and other parts of the world.

70% of all products stored are transferred to David Price transport Division for onward distribution.
